Fruit orchard at the medical office

Fruit orchard initiated
Pear, lime, lemon, and orange trees are planted at the medical office, to encourage healthy food choices
The first fruit trees have been been planted at the medical office, to help encourage a healthy lifestyle. Making good use of the temperate climate, the first trees include pears, lemons, oranges and limes. Fruit will begin to be available in Fall 2014.

Dr. Seuss book homecoming chosen as favorite story of 2013

The reporters of the Times Colonist newspaper each choose a favorite story for the year. Reporter Pedro Arrais chose the medical office's story of 'The cat came back to the Queen Alexandra' as his selection.

Newly arrived all-wooden handbuilt examination table
A handcrafted examination table arrived for the office. Built by hand by a local carpenter, the table features all-wood construction in the stirrups, drawers, and sliding platforms.

Dr. Seuss: Quilt donation

Dr. O'Connor delivers Christien Shipton's donated handmade, Dr. Seuss quilt to Jessica Woolard of the Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, during the Foundation's Motorcar fundraiser at the Queen Alexandra
Upon hearing of the donated Dr. Seuss 'Cat In the Hat', Christien Shipton, a Sooke quilter kindly opted to create a custom, handmade Dr. Seuss quilt. The quilt was given to Dr. O'Connor to deliver for the special needs children of the area. It was delivered in September to the Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island at their motorcar gathering fundraiser.

Construction begins on Berg housecall bicycle

Housecall bike construction begins

Al Bergman, proprietor of Berg Bikes has begun construction of a custom housecall bicycle for Dr. O'Connor. Measurements are complete and some components are already en-route. Al will be building the bicycle in his accessible workshop, using upcycled scrap airplane titanium tubing to weld together into the frame.
